It was announced today (9th July 2008) in Altinkum's Voices newspaper that the long awaited ferry service to Kos will start on 16th July.

The ferries will depart from Didim port at 9:00, and the return departure time from Kos will be 16.30. The journey time is reported to be just 75 minutes and the cost is to be £38 (91YTL) per person for a return ticket, for those aged 12 and over, 6 - 12 year olds will pay £10 and under 6's go free.

This will be ideal for people wishing to renew their 90 day (£10) tourist visa.

Future ferry service dates are to be confirmed and it is hoped that services will commence to other Greek islands in the near future.
