TURKEY

DIDIM AREA
The area of Didim lies on the Aegean coast in the South West of Turkey. It is in the province of Aydin and lies between the resorts of Kuşadasi and Bodrum. It is served by two airports – Brodrum/Milas which is only a 1 hour 15 minute drive away and Izmir, 1 hour 45 minutes. This area has many sites of historical interest such as the ancient Roman city of Ephesus and Meryamana (Mary’s House) where the Virgin Mary was said to have spent her last days. There are also areas of outstanding natural beauty like Pamukale (Cotton Castle), where limestone laden thermal springs have dried and left dazzling white castle-like formations, lake bafa (Bafa Golu) and lots of stunning mountain and coastal views.

ALTINKUM
Altinkum lies at the heart of the Didim area. The name in English means “Golden sands” and this is a very accurate description of one of its most famous features. The beaches here are second to none and the sea is clear and safe for bathing. There is a multitude of water sports available for the adventurous and numerous boat trips are run from the harbour. Altinkum has its own site of historical interest with the famous “Temple of Apollo”. Looking to the future, currently under construction is the new Marina, this is due for completion in 2009 and will be a real boost to the area, bringing in many cruise ships and private yachts.The resort of Altinkum has plenty of bars, restaurants, nightclubs and shops, as well as a large weekly market every Saturday and an aqua-park only a 10 minute bus ride away.

AKBUK
Akbuk is the next town along the coast from Altinkum and is situated at the heart of a large bay. It is a smaller, quieter town than its neighbour. There is a regular dolmus service to Altinkum which is only 20 minutes away. This area is noted for its clean air and fantastic scenery. The weekly market here is held every Friday.
YESILTEPE
Yesiltepe (Green Hill in English) is an up and coming area, in-land from Altinkum (20 minutes) and Akbuk (15 minutes). This newly developing town offers great investment potential as development here is in its early stages. Consequently amenities her are limited at present to a shop and coffee bar, but as the town grows facilities will increase.There are large plots of land currently available, with fantastic views of the surrounding beautiful countryside.
